2010 TOURNAMENT UPDATE We have added some tournaments to our schedule for the Middle Tennessee Area and have made some changed to existing tournaments.

We have made the 3rd Annual Veterans Memorial Spring Classic a Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifier.

We have added a FREE Wood Bat Tournament in Sparta TN April 10-11 Also a Double points Tournament.

June 4-6 in Jasper TN we have added the June Jam, 2010 Global Sports Baseball Qualifier

June 25-27 for ages 9u and 11u Music City Bash at the Music City Baseball complex

June 25-27 for 13u Music City Bash at William A Pitts Park

May 14-16 Pitts Park Classic for 14u at the William A Pitts Park in Antioch

May 15th in Gainsboro TN, One Day Shoot Out at the Jackson County High for 14u

June 12th in Gainsboro TN, One Day Slugfest at the Jackson County High for 15u

The state tournament for 15u and 16u has been set. 15u will play at Siegel High School June 18-20 16u will play at Lavergne High School June 25-27.

Operation - Clean Sweep!

Is your Online Roster current? Are there players on your Online Roster who no longer play with your team? Are all the first and last names on your Online Roster listed exactly as they appear on the birth certificates? Are all birthdates correct? These questions are extremely important!!!

Introducing OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP! Over the next 72 hours, team managers should take a few minutes to review their Online Roster. Remove players that no longer play with your team and compare your data entry with your player's birth certificates for accuracy. Why you may ask?

Rule 3.03

A player shall be eligible to compete in the USSSA Baseball program as long as he abides by the USSSA Constitution and the Official Baseball National By-laws & Rules when his first name, last name (no middle names, nick names, shortened names, slang names, initials, prefixes or suffixes are allowed) and date of birth (in proper format - mm/dd/yyyy) are listed EXACTLY as they appear on his originial birth certificate, as a member on an eligible team's Official Online Roster.

The above rule is very clear. If a player’s first name on his birth certificate in William, you cannot list him on your Online Roster as Bill, Billy, Will or Willie, it must be William. Simply stated; on the Roster Add / Update page, the top data entry box is labeled First Name: and the only data that goes in that box is the player’s legal first name from his birth certificate. There is no middle name or middle initial data entry box so do not include either. If a player on your Online Roster is a Jr., or III, or IV, you do not include the suffix.

If a player's first name is incorrect the team manager can fix this himself by using the "Edit Player" button on the Roster Add / Update page. If a player's last name or birthdate is incorrect, email the corrections to the State Office at info@tnusssa.com. In the email subject line, please type “Roster Corrections”. In the email body, please include the team name, age division, classification, player's name(s) and what needs to be corrected.

2010 GLOBAL SPORTS BASEBALL (A DIVISION OF USSSA) SYSA is proud to announce that the GSB World Series will be hosted in the Nashville Area June 30th- July 4th for age groups 9u-12u and 14u. (13u will be hosted in Knoxville on the same dates). This event is limited to the first 24 teams in each age group that qualify and sign up. SYSA will host several GSB Qualifiers through out Tennessee, North GA and Kentucky. GSB Worlds will have three(3) tournament Championship Brackets.
